Your Radar belongs to you.

Early Career Radar is an independent project operated by Yu Huang. It helps students discover internships and new-grad roles, open the original employer listing, and organize their own search.

Depending on how you use the service, Radar may collect:

• Account information: a verified email address, internal authentication identifier, and basic Google profile information when you choose Google sign-in.
• Your job-search activity: saved, applied, and hidden roles; private notes; recruiter details; and application timeline entries.
• Career Profile and résumés: uploaded files, extracted text, profile details, reviewed facts, corrections, job descriptions you provide, and generated résumé versions when you use those features.
• Billing and credit records: your plan, subscription and payment identifiers, charge and renewal dates, credit balances and use, refunds, and promotion eligibility. Card details are collected by Stripe, not stored as full card numbers or security codes in Radar.
• Policy acceptance: the Terms and Privacy Policy versions you accept, the acceptance time, and the account that accepted them.
• Alert information: role, location, student-stage, frequency, consent, delivery, click, bounce, and unsubscribe records.
• Messages you send: feedback, reports, contact details you choose to provide, and related page links.
• Usage and security information: a private browser identifier, landing page, campaign or referring site, browser and device information, timestamps, and limited network information used for analytics, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and reliability.

Connecting an account is optional. Without one, personal job activity stays associated with a private cookie in that browser. After you connect, it follows the verified account across devices.

Radar offers Google sign-in alongside one-time email codes. It requests only your email address and basic profile. Radar cannot read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive files, or other Google content.

Google returns a signed identity token containing information such as your email, name, profile image when available, and whether the address is verified. Neon verifies that token for Radar. Short-lived sign-in tokens may be held with the account record and Radar removes them once they expire. Radar does not request a refresh token that would let it reach your Google account when you are not present.

Signing in with an address that already has a Radar account connects to that account rather than creating another one. Signing in does not enable alerts. Radar’s use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Radar uses first-party cookies for the private browser identifier, authentication, security, and cross-domain migration from the old Radar address. Browser storage also remembers interface choices such as dismissed prompts. Blocking these may prevent saved roles or sign-in from working correctly.

Radar records one first-party activity summary per browser or account per Pacific calendar day rather than storing its own raw page-view stream. Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics also measure site use. Those providers may receive page, device, browser, network, and interaction information and may use cookies or similar identifiers according to their own policies. Radar does not use this information to serve targeted advertising.

Radar uses information to:

• provide, synchronize, and secure your Radar;
• process uploaded résumés and create the tailored versions you request;
• manage subscriptions, credits, payments, and eligible offers;
• send alerts and sign-in codes you request;
• honor unsubscribe choices and prevent duplicate messages;
• understand aggregate acquisition, engagement, and retention;
• investigate abuse, diagnose failures, and improve the service; and
• respond to feedback, listing reports, and privacy requests.

When you upload a résumé, Radar stores the original file privately, checks it, extracts its text, and may use AI to organize it into reviewable profile details. When you request tailoring, Radar sends relevant résumé text, approved facts, the job description, and your chosen instructions to Anthropic. This content can include personal information. Remove anything you do not want processed before uploading or adding it.

File checks, PDF text extraction, and scan recognition run in Radar’s processing services and do not themselves send the file to Anthropic. Radar stores the resulting résumé versions so you can review, edit, and download them. Your uploads and drafts are not sent to employers by Radar.

Anthropic’s standard API policy deletes inputs and outputs within 30 days, subject to exceptions such as safety review, usage-policy enforcement, and legal obligations. It does not use commercial API inputs or outputs to train models by default. Radar does not promise zero retention or immediate deletion of information already processed by Anthropic. You can review and correct your extracted details, replace or delete résumé files, and request account deletion. Deleting an original file does not automatically delete separately saved tailored versions; account deletion covers both. Stopping use of the AI features prevents new requests, but does not undo processing already performed.

To investigate failed uploads, tailoring, and downloads, Radar records processing stages, fixed error codes, timing, file type and size, and the software and AI model versions involved. These diagnostic events are linked to your account; they do not contain your résumé text, job description, file name, or raw error messages.

After cancellation, you can optionally share a reason and a short note. Skipping feedback does not affect cancellation. Authorized administrators can review this feedback and product diagnostics. Diagnostic events and feedback are scheduled for deletion after 90 days and are included in account data exports and deletion. Subscription and processing records follow their existing retention rules.

Radar uses Neon for authentication and database services, Resend for email delivery, Vercel for hosting and analytics, and Google for optional sign-in and analytics. Amazon Web Services provides private file storage and document processing, Anthropic provides AI processing, and Stripe processes payments and subscription management. They receive information needed to perform their services and may process it in the United States or other countries.

When you enter payment information in Stripe Checkout or the billing portal, Stripe handles that information under its Privacy Policy. Radar receives the payment and subscription status needed to manage your plan and credits.

Radar does not sell personal information, rent mailing lists, or disclose private applications, notes, or recruiter details to employers. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect the service or its users.

Business transfers: If Radar is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, personal information—including account data and private job-search activity—may be disclosed as necessary during due diligence and transferred as part of that transaction. Radar will seek appropriate confidentiality and security protections. A recipient or successor may use the information only in accordance with this policy and the privacy promises in effect when it was collected. A materially different use requires notice and consent where required by law.

Signing in does not subscribe you. Alerts begin only after you choose a board and save your choices. Every marketing or role-alert email includes an unsubscribe link. You can turn alerts off while keeping your account, although Radar may still send transactional messages you request, such as a one-time sign-in code, or messages about your subscription, trial end, and payments.

Radar keeps account and job-search data while needed to provide the service or until a verified deletion request is completed. Consent, unsubscribe, delivery, security, and backup records may remain for a reasonable period when needed to honor choices, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Signing out does not delete account data.

Account deletion freezes access and provides a 24-hour recovery window. After that window, deletion proceeds across Radar’s database, authentication, and file-storage services. Storage retention holds, queued retries, and backup expiration can delay physical removal. Limited records needed to complete and verify deletion, prevent deleted data from being restored, honor opt-outs, or meet financial and legal obligations may remain. Deletion does not shorten a service provider’s independent retention duties.

Radar uses restricted ownership identifiers, encrypted transport, protected authentication cookies, rate limits, and access controls. No internet service can promise perfect security, so avoid placing highly sensitive information in application notes.

Use Profile → Privacy & data to export your account data or request deletion when available. You may also request access, correction, export, or deletion through Contact on the homepage or the board’s Feedback form. Choose Privacy or account data when available, and include the email on your account. Radar will verify ownership before acting.

You may also unsubscribe from alerts, sign out, clear browser storage, control Google Analytics through browser privacy tools, and manage Google account permissions in your Google Account. Radar will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request. Some requests may be limited where retention is required for security or law.

Radar is intended for internship and early-career job seekers and is not directed to children under 13. If Radar learns that it collected personal information from a child under 13, it will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you use Radar outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

This policy may change as Radar adds features or its practices change. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, when appropriate, an additional notice. Questions and privacy requests can be sent through Contact on the homepage or Feedback on either board.
