Security Research INTERN

Begins to analyze threat trends and anomalies to determine operational impact. Determines vectors that introduce threat and potential mitigation strategies. Learns about systemic security issues and how to address them. Processes threat reporting from internal and external sources. Provides discrete threat data based on intelligence requirements or customer requests. Identifies security defects or vulnerabilities and deficiencies in security guidance.

Contributes code to technical implementation and automation of solutions to address security issues, such as signature detection, malware, threat analysis, or reverse engineering. Uses results from research and experimentation to support architecture or product direction. Identifies areas of dependency and overlap with other teams or team members. Provides constructive input so the work is integrated and timely. Communicates the status of deliverables and dependencies to meet schedule.

Engages in measures to protect tools, techniques, information, and results of security practices. Responds to incidents for systems or products as needed. Uses results of pen testing to improve products and services.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide either proof of their country of citizenship or proof of their U.S. permanent residency or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information.

To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate's citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable.
