Quantum Infrastructure Intern 2027 - Platform Automation

As part of Quantum Operations, our mission is to build, maintain, and continuously elevate the foundational environment that enables the development and delivery of our Quantum solutions to customers. Our team brings together expertise across Security, Infrastructure, Reliability, Testing, and Performance to ensure our platform remains robust, scalable, and secure.

As a Platform Engineer, you will design and build the tooling and automation frameworks that make infrastructure operations easy, deterministic, and repeatable — codifying provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.

Rather than managing infrastructure directly, your focus will be on creating the software and pipelines that allow other teams to deploy and operate infrastructure reliably and consistently, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that streamline how code and infrastructure changes move through our environments.

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Basic proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Go Foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud), gained through coursework or personal projects Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts or tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi Basic understanding of version control practices using Git Familiarity with the concept of CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery Basic understanding of containers (e.g.,

Docker) and how they're used in modern software deployment Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi Experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) Practical experience deploying and operating workloads on a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud) Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
