Software Engineering builds the brains of Waymo's fully autonomous driving technology. Our software allows the Waymo Driver to perceive the world around it, make the right decision for every situation, and deliver people safely to their destinations.

We think deeply and solve complex technical challenges in areas like robotics, perception, decision-making and deep learning, while collaborating with hardware and systems engineers. The subteam for this role will be: Labeling team, building labeling infrastructure for data curation for improving ML models at Waymo.

Labeling works at the center of Waymo’s most pertinent problems – collaborating inclusively with modeling teams to source / create / synthesize the data that our models need. We act like owners in maintaining existing infrastructure, while thinking big when innovating new platforms to improve the user experience with our tools and improve models downstream. • Work with labeling engineers on iterating on compiler design and addressing user needs
• Experiment with different engineering approaches to determine best output for extensible future design
• Code in c++ and typescript to implement the compiler

You have:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience working with large data infrastructure
• Knowledge of CS graph fundamentals, inc. topographic sort
• Coding experience – TS / C++ preferred, but those specific languages are not mandatory

Note: This will be a hybrid onsite internship position. We will accept resumes on a rolling basis until the role is filled. The expected hourly rate for this full-time position is listed below. Interns are also eligible to participate in the Company’s generous benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.
