Intern – Embedded Systems Test Automation Engineer – Bothell, WA – Summer 2027 Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in paid intern opportunities at our site in Bothell, WA. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.

Your role

• You’ll contribute to meaningful improvements in embedded-product quality and engineering productivity by identifying opportunities to automate repeatable test procedures and building practical test solutions.
• You’ll collaborate with embedded systems engineers to understand product behavior, develop test approaches, and validate solutions against real device requirements.
• You’ll design, develop, and enhance automated test tools, scripts, fixtures, or supporting infrastructure based on current team and product priorities.
• You’ll help collect, organize, and communicate test results through clear reporting, dashboards, or visualizations that make test health, trends, and recurring issues easier for engineering teams to understand.
• You may explore data analytics and AI-assisted methods to summarize test results, organize logs, identify patterns, and surface potential engineering insights.
• Engineering teams will review conclusions and determine appropriate actions.
• You’ll gain hands-on experience with embedded systems, test automation, and cross-functional product development while delivering well-documented tools, prototypes, analyses, or process improvements that provide lasting value to the team.

You're the right fit if:

• You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• You have foundational programming experience in one or more languages relevant to test automation or embedded development, such as Python, C, C++, or similar.
• You are interested in embedded systems and enjoy troubleshooting how software, hardware, and data work together.
• You communicate clearly, approach problems with curiosity, and are comfortable learning new tools in a collaborative engineering environment.
• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

How we work together We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. This is an office role. Philips Transparency Details The hourly pay range for this position is $29.00 to $36.00, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Additional Information

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Bothell, WA.
