Security Operations Engineering INTERN

Researches attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems' security and determine next steps, including potential escalations. Develops and implements automation of security processes and procedures where possible and translate security policy into effective controls. Responds to security incidents, conducts threat intelligence and analysis, and use data analytics to drive security decisions. Conducts and supports red/purple team operations or improve security posture.

Maintains hardware, software, network firewalls, and encryption protocols, and they administer security policies to control access to systems. Has understanding of baremetal infrastructure and services (physical servers hosting virtual machines). Applies knowledge of operating systems, cloud infrastructure, virtualized environments, scripting, and networking concepts to support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of technical issues. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.

Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship. Bachelors or Masters in in Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology. CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification.
