Upbound Group, Inc. is headquartered in Plano, Texas. Practice Area Overview The Analytics Intern will gain exposure to the practice of analytics within a public company Data & Analytics department. Working alongside experienced Analysts and Leaders, the intern will support the customer analytics function that enables data-driven decision making across the Upbound enterprise, evolving the organization’s customer intelligence capabilities.

The role is intended to provide hands-on experience and practical insight into the work of a Data Analyst producing meaningful insights in a public company environment. Throughout the internship, potential areas of exposure include:

• Customer Performance Insight Generation
• Exposure to translation of complex customer datasets into meaningful insights and recommendations for stakeholder partners
• Exposure to what it takes to produce executive-ready presentations, recommendations, and business narratives that enable informed strategic decisions
• Exposure to leveraging data storytelling, visualization and business communication to ensure you influence your audience appropriately
• Strategic Analysis Mindset
• Exposure to the customer journey data model, customer transaction data, clickstream event (digital) data, CRM, and enterprise customer datasets to identify opportunities, shape analytical approaches and ensure comprehensive understanding of the customer journey
• Exposure to partnering directly with business stakeholders to align customer analytics priorities with strategic business objectives and proactively identity opportunities to drive growth
• Operational Excellence & Governance
• Exposure to improving standards for analytical methodologies, data quality, documentation, validation, prioritization, and project management to ensure consistency, transparency and scalability across the Customer Performance Analytics function

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree program and has successfully completed the first or second year of college
• Strong academic performance, with a preferred cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher
• Demonstrated interest in analytics, computer science, data science, data engineering
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort speaking in front of large audiences
• Proven leadership potential through academic achievement, internships, campus involvement, athletics, military service, or extracurricular activities

Work Location Ability to work in our corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas throughout the entire ten-week summer intern program.
