About the Role

The Privacy Intern supports the organization's privacy and data protection initiatives by assisting with privacy impact assessments, evaluating how personal data is collected and used across business processes and technology systems, and helping ensure compliance with privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements. This role partners with Legal, Cybersecurity, Digital, and other stakeholders to support privacy best practices, monitor compliance activities, contribute to digital privacy reviews, and promote privacy awareness across the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in privacy impact assessments (PIA) for new products, services, technologies, and business initiatives.
  • Analyze how personal data is collected, used, shared, stored and retained across business processes and technology systems.
  • Provide support for ongoing monitoring related to use of technology in a manner compliant with policies, procedures, and other obligations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (including Legal, Cybersecurity, and Digital) on various business initiatives to assess whether data collection and usage practices are compliant, while also operationalizing privacy best practices and requirements.
  • Assist privacy engineers and privacy operations with ensuring corporate compliance with all relevant privacy, digital, and cybersecurity related matters.
  • Support digital compliance processes, including website testing and reviewing cookie and tag scans.
  • Promote privacy within the organization by creating awareness materials such as slide decks or articles.
  • Participate in required Intern events on a monthly basis.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity related concepts, best practices, and regulations and laws preferred.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with different stakeholders and groups.
  • Ability to express facts and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • High level of personal integrity, with the ability to professionally handle confidential matters.
  • Strong interest in policies and processes relating to data protection and privacy.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications software.
  • Experience

Work Condition: Normal office environment Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection

Work Experience & Education

  • Currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
  • Auto finance experience and/or privacy related experience a plus.
